We had a visit from our friends at Avon Valley for the first of our friendly matches this season.

From the start as they arrived things were happy and jovial, and so it continued through the afternoon.

The game was strange as rink 2 was 10 to 0 to them while on rink 4 the score was 10 to 0 to us for the first 6 ends. Overall, the scoring was incredibly close all the way through the match with Avon Valley eventually winning by 6 shots 73 to 79. We look forward to the return match at Gaydon on the 10th of March.

A big well done to Charles, a relatively new bowler who is making great progress.

My thanks go out to the ladies who looked after the hub prior to the game and catered to us all after the match and washed up and cleared away.

Special thanks to Maureen and Charlie who filled in and played at the last minute due to illnesses.

This Saturday Feb 10th we will be entertaining Slade bowls club from Buckingham, which should be another competitive match. So please come down and support your team and the afternoons entertainment, and the Hub will be open for tea & coffee.

See you their
