Saturday the 8th November: Banbury Cross Indoor Bowls match against Chipping Norton at home. We had twelve visitors for this match so we provided three players to make up a fifth rink, which ended up to our detriment as we then lost by eight shots. All in all it was an excellent game with very close scoring throughout after eighteen ends, my own game against their skip of the day John, I trailed him up to the 17th end by one shot but squeezed 3 shots to sneak home to plus two, nice to see old friends and faces and have a catch up over a cuppa and biscuits.

The next home match is the ladies away at Avon Valley (I may have to wear a TU TU) on the Thursday afternoon 30TH of November.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO SIGN UP FOR THESE FRIENDLY MATCHES, WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT AND THEY ARE GOOD FUN!

Saturday 4th November we played away to Oxford City and County, a very strong bowls club that we always relish playing and most games were pretty tight we managed to win reasonably comfortable, with our team with two first time competitors recording hotshots scoring all nine woods on one end, and now await being awarded there certificates and badges and being mentioned in the official BOWLS ENGLAND magazine. So congratulations from myself and the club go to lead, Charles Clark, No 2, Ian Jackman and Skip was John Stephens.

Needless to say we returned home somewhat elated.

Saturday 28th October we travelled to Slade bowls club in Buckingham where Caroline gave us a lovely warm welcome as a new visiting Captain. We played all 4 triple rinks and had a rather unusual final score, sadly we lost overall but rink 1 drew 13 /13 while rink 4 draw 11/11 but rinks 2 and 3 both lost by 22/9 identical scores.

Sunday 8th October we had our first all 6 triple rinks in operation with a visit from Witney town bowls club. Nice to see old friends from outdoor bowls who are normally a strong side to compete against but we managed a decent win without embarrassing our guests too much, a really nice friendly gathering and a natter over tea and biscuits.
