What a bright sunshiny day to start our trip over to “Chipping Norton bowls club" where we were greeted by Richard.

After all the formalities and cards sorted, we started the game with Chippy playing rinks against us playing triples, which seemed strange to us initially but worked out quite smooth once we started playing, with our skips only playing with two woods, so eight woods for each team.

The start for us was terrible, only rink 4 with skip Linda, John, and Tracy on five all after the ninth end. the other rinks were 8/14, 3/10 and 6/9 down on the ninth end, but we battled on to lose by a mere five shots, with two winning rinks so the spoils were shared.

It was my pleasure to introduce three players to the away friendly matches, Charles, Wendy, and Tracy who all played well and enjoyed themselves, and I am sure they will be eager to put their names up to play in future matches. Thank you to all who turned up in plenty of time to register and set off with plenty of time to reach our destination on time.

As two of the players were traveling individually to Chippy, I took the opportunity of taking our retiring President and retiring Ladies Captain along to say their goodbyes to old bowling colleagues of many years standing, the only thing missing was my chauffeur's hat as they waved their way like the Queen and prince Philip.

Just one more friendly match to come against “Adderbury” this coming Sunday 24th March, and this will be a strong competitive team so please hurry and fill in the remaining places on the sheet.

Then on the Sunday 14th April the ultimate match of the season will be our Charity Match for Katherine House Hospice. This is the last time this season, we will have the opportunity to raise a charitable amount for this good cause, so please could you bring items for raffle prizes on the day? Raffle tickets will be sold on the day, so please remember to bring Cash as we are unable to except cards.

Thank you for your support.
